Month 1: I’m sore

After one month with a coach I can say I’m sore, and pleased. Might sound like an odd combo but I’m sore because of the core and strength training but I’m pleased because for the first time in forever, or maybe even ever, I’ve stuck with it. Waiting until 11:30pm to do my exercises is not uncommon, neither is some swearing at myself for waiting so long sometimes but that’s fine. I’ve learned that I have a lot to learn and a long way to go but I’ve feeling motivated to at least continue. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to plan our days to get in a workout without it taking away from family time and not cut into sleep too much since Miss A already loves to kill my sleep. The bike trainer is now in the guest room where I can go early in the morning (ha that really isn’t happening yet let’s be honest), or late at night, or during a no nap afternoon and let Miss A watch some cartoon for a bit. Luckily the stroller usually induces a nap so we’ll be taking advantage of that option some days too. My swim days are really restricted to school times but that should be ok. I know at some point we’ll have to schedule some open water swims but for now I’ll just smell like chlorine in the pickup line.
